Castiglione del Lago is a wonderful village in central Italy, whose name comes from the medieval fortress built around the middle of the thirteenth century and called “Castello del Leone” for its pentagonal shape inspired by the constellation of Leo. The position of the village offers a truly unparalleled panoramic view: on one hand, the view embraces the whole of Lake Trasimeno and Cortona, on the other Panicale, Città della Pieve and the hills around Chiusi to Monte Amiata. Easily accessible by car or train, Castiglione can be a starting point for excursions to the nearby cities of art in Umbria and Tuscany. At the foot of the village, which is located within the Parco del Trasimeno, there are grass and sand beaches equipped for relaxation.
The house is part of a large complex, of an old farmhouse that has its roots in the history of the Renaissance, in an area of passage for merchants from Perugia who stopped on their journey from Umbria to Tuscany. The area is one of the main strategic points that link in half an hour’s drive (but also easily accessible by train) the best villages of the Siena area (San Casciano di Bagni, Cortona, Montepulciano), of Arezzo area and of Perugia (Spello, Assisi, Corciano). In the surroundings (ie in the same street), there is a riding school, there are 2 farmhouses with swimming pool, a cooking school run by two wonderful chefs from New York, all surrounded by unspoilt nature.

Description of the house itself
There are three floors.
The first floor consists of a very large kitchen and living room, not separated by doors or walls, but by an arch that remained intact as it was in the Renaissance era. There is also a small storage room with a toilet, a sink, a washing machine and a dryer machine. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. There are two doors, the main entrance and the back door that leads directly to the large terrace and the garden bordered by a gate. In the garden there is a gazebo handmade! A beautiful garden to be enjoyed in the spring, summer and part of autumn times!
The second floor consists of two bedrooms and a bathroom. Specifically, a double bedroom and a bedroom with a single bed. The bathroom consists of a bath with shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
The third floor is configured as an attic with a symmetrical double-pitched roof: there is a ridge line along the entire apartment and the ceiling descends on both sides to the perimeter walls with the same slope. The lower part is quite high, and this ceiling gives a rich and articulated perception of the spaces, with illuminated areas and various shaded areas. There are also two very large rooms here, one with two single beds joined together into a double bed, and one with a queen-size bed. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, bidet and sink.
Each area of the house is largely illuminated thanks to the presence of many windows.
The house is sold including all the furniture and appliances.
The whole area is quiet, considering it is in the countryside and it’s surrounded by nature.
Other parts of the property are: a private parking space, a land with the possibility of planting fruit and vegetables of all kinds, 12 olive trees from which to obtain excellent extra-virgin olive oil, and a storage place used to store, but it is a space you can choose to use as anything you want. From the storage place it departs an additional open space (a piece of land recently bhought) for a second possible parking space covered by a canopy.
