The building, situated in Via Brancoleta-Montagnano (Ar) in Fonte a Ronco, dates back to the 1600. It was the house of the farmer of the Farm of Fonte al Ronco and there are still some original paintings and decorations. In 1651 the farm was sold from Ferdinando II to the Order of Santo Stefano to be restored with the modern criteria, beginning a wide recovery work that interested all the Valdichiana, that was divided into few farm at that time (documentation from the National Archive of Pisa – Order of S. Stefano).
The building has a surface of about 650 sqm (4 levels) + garretts with two private courtyards: one on the front and one on the back of the property for about 700 sqm. A main staircase connects the entrance and the various floors. The lower ground floor has a typical layout with arches and vaults made of red bricks and includes an ancient oven; on the ground floor there is a two-room apartment with indipendent entrance and two wide rooms, one on the right and one on the left of the stairs. On the upper floors, there are wide room with several windows. An approved project calculates three large apartments.
